Motherhood – Joy Pollock

I have the privilege of working with Joy Pollock, a member at All Saints Church in Deansway, in the leadership of Home for Good: Worcester, seeking to find a home for every local child who needs one. Joy regularly blogs for Worcestershire Local Authority and speaks on BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester about fostering and motherhood. As Mothers’ Day approaches, I am sharing this blog she has written for Home for Good.

As Joy turns the tables on the way we look at motherhood, it reminds me of a picture Jesus uses of Himself as a ‘mother hen’:

Discipleship Evangelism (part 2) – Kath Bowden

At the end of my first blog, I asked myself was I up for the challenge of becoming someone who could disciple a new Christian?  Are my foundations solid and in good repair and does my life reflect Jesus?

A couple of years ago we had a conservatory built onto our bungalow.  I watched as the footings were put in place.  It was a very messy business, mud everywhere, a lot of hard work for the man digging and mixing the concrete.

The dictionary’s definition of footings is ‘the basis or foundation on which anything is established’.  Sounds pretty important to me!
