Sundays
We meet at 10.15am on Sundays, at Christopher Whitehead Language College.
The meeting usually concludes about noon, and is followed by refreshments, for those who can stay a little longer. This is an excellent opportunity for newcomers to meet some of the church family.
So what can I expect if I attend a Sunday meeting?
Well, we hope the first thing you would notice is a warm welcome. Our style is informal but not casual – we are looking to encounter God whenever we meet together. A typical Sunday will include:
• A welcome and introduction.
• Worship, using mainly contemporary Christian songs, supported by a band and often orchestral instruments as well.
• 'Family' news and interviews.
• A talk lasting about 30 minutes (the children have their own groups during this time).
• Prayer.
• Refreshments.
Is there anything for new people?
We have people on the look-out for new faces, to welcome you and help you feel at home. Feel free to let the people at the door know that you’re new, and they’ll help you settle in and provide you with information about the church. Once a month we change the format of our Sunday morning service for our Guest Events.
Is there anything for children and young people?
There are crèche facilities available throughout the morning. Junior Church caters for 0 -7s, 7-11s and 11-13s.
Will I be expected to give money?
No. Guests are not expected to contribute to our offerings. They are welcome to if they wish!
If you are interested in finding out more about any of these, you can fill in a visitors’ card or contact us at the church office.
