The meeting usually concludes about noon, and is followed by refreshments, for those who can stay a little longer. This is an excellent opportunity for newcomers to meet the church family.
Whether you are used to attending church meetings or not we hope that the first thing you would notice is a warm welcome. Our style is informal but not casual as we are expecting to encounter God whenever we meet together.
A typical Sunday will include a welcome and introduction, some contemporary worship led by our own musicians, often some ‘family’ news stories or interviews, a talk based on the Bible lasting around 30 minutes (the children will have their own groups during this time) and an opportunity for personal prayer.
Visitors are always welcome and there is no pressure for you to have to participate, give money or even agree with everything. Our hospitality team will help with any questions or practical issues that you have as well as providing further information about us.
Children and young people usually leave the main meeting around 11am and go to their groups – Junior Church for 4 -11s and World Changers for 11-13s. There are also crèche facilities for the under 4s where parents remain with their children.
We celebrate communion on a regular basis on a Sunday morning, usually once a month. We welcome all Christians to join us in communion but no pressure. When requested we also celebrate baptism of believers by full immersion in water and encourage the dedication of new babies and children.
If you are interested in finding out more about any of these, you can fill in a visitors’ card or contact us at the church office.
Occaisionally, we change the format of our Sunday morning service for a more relaxed café-style event.
10:15am for coffee and cakes at Christopher Whitehead Language College, Bromwich Road, Worcester WR2 4AF.
On these Sundays we set up the meeting rather differently, beginning and finishing with refreshments (including fresh coffee and pastries!). We sit around small tables, café-style, and the morning is geared to those who would not normally attend church. The meetings are shorter and we use drama and multi-media presentations to support the message. We usually take a theme, some issue of contemporary living, and look at the relevance of Jesus’ teaching and example to that issue.
This includes updates from various church ministries from folk who are working overseas and other exciting testimony from the church family. We usually like to include food in this time – often a ‘bring and share’ meal. We tend to do these on a Sunday Morning to enable as many of us to attend as possible.
Apart from our Sunday morning gatherings, we hold a monthly prayer meeting on the second Sunday evening in the month. One week per month is designated as a Prayer Week with early morning, evening and lunchtime short focused gatherings. Prayer is also a key part of Life Transformation Groups.
If you are a visitor to the site and would appreciate prayer, please contact us or leave us a message via the email contact form.
