Homepage

Welcome to City Church. We are a growing family of about 200 people of all ages and backgrounds, from all parts of the city and beyond. We have all discovered that a friendship with Jesus is the most important part of our lives.

This website will help you find out more about us and what it means to have this friendship. Why not drop by and meet us – you’d be welcome any time and we’d love to meet you. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Bible and Science - 'Science and Religion: Ugly Sisters in a Suffering World?'

The meeting on Tuesday March 16, 2010 at 8 p.m. at Lindisfarne House will be very different from recent ones. The speaker, Prof. Barry Jones, will testify about his experience of a life in science (measurement science) and in the Methodist church. He maintains that both science and religion need to change in one way or another - be prepared for a bit of controversy!

What we Believe

We are a Church who are hungry for God and believe that lost people matter to Him. Teamwork is central to how we work; love and unity are non-negotiable.

Alpha Course

The alpha course is a ten week course which sets out to answer the question “What is the meaning of life?” Topics covered include: Is there life after death? Does prayer make a difference? Does God heal today? Contact the church office for more information.

Sundays

We meet at 10.15am on Sundays, at Christopher Whitehead Language College. The meeting usually concludes about noon, and is followed by refreshments, for those who can stay a little longer.
