The Alpha Course
We will be starting two new Alpha courses in September 2011 - a morning course and an evening one.
The Alpha Course is a ten week course which sets out to answer the question “What is the meaning of life?”
and sets out to explore some of life’s other big questions. Topics covered include: Who was Jesus? Why did he die? Is there life after death? Does prayer make a difference? What about the bible? Does God heal today? Is church relevant? How to make the most of the rest of my life?
What’s involved?
Our morning course is held at Lindisfarne House, while the evening course takes place in a local family home, and the evening begins with a meal. Then there is a talk (on DVD with large screen projection). This is followed by an opportunity to discuss the topic together over coffee in a small group.
The setting is welcoming, relaxed and unthreatening. There is no pressure to disclose anything personal; everyone’s opinion is respected.
Our Alpha Course is free of charge, although we do invite participants to make a small donation towards the cost of meals if they wish.
Who’s it for?
The Alpha Course is ideal for anyone interested in exploring some of life’s big questions. You don’t have to be a Christian or a church-goer to take part; indeed, it’s geared to those with little or no God-stuff in their background.
