The Alpha Course
The Alpha Course is a ten week course which sets out to answer the question “What is the meaning of life?”
What is the Alpha Course?
Alpha sets out to explore some of life’s big questions. Topics covered include: Who was Jesus? Why did he die? Is there life after death? Does prayer make a difference? What about the bible? Does God heal today? Is church relevant? How to make the most of the rest of my life?
What’s involved?
Alpha is usually held in someone’s home, and the evening begins with a meal. Then there is a talk (on DVD with large screen projection). This is followed by an opportunity to discuss the topic together over coffee in a small group.
The setting is welcoming, relaxed and unthreatening. There is no pressure to disclose anything personal; everyone’s opinion is respected.
Who’s it for?
The Alpha Course is ideal for anyone interested in exploring some of life’s big questions. You don’t have to be a Christian or a church-goer to take part; indeed, it’s geared to those with little or no God-stuff in their background.
